Daniel Cardwell, from Whitley Bay, was last seen at the water filled quarry on Sunday at around 7:30pm!!!
His clothes and mobile phone were found at the side of the pond!!!
Initial reports suggested Daniel may have been drinking and decided to go for a swim!!!
A huge sense of loss was hanging over the community today after police confirmed a body found in a lake was that of missing teenager Daniel Cardwell!!!
Just after 2pm yesterday police recovered Daniel's body from the quarry. Post mortem results showed that he died from drowning!!!
To his devastated family, drowned schoolboy, Daniel Cardwell will always be affectionately known as boy wonder!!!
